New Skyline History display

Photo of free standing history display

SPPA is proud to present our new Skyline History display. The display measures 33.5 x 79 inches, and will be on show at various locations, starting with Jay Cooke State Park visitors center in June.

The display rolls up into its base, making it easy to store and set up. If you can think of locations that might host the display for a week or a month or more, email contact@skylineppa.org. Locations should be indoors safe from rampaging children and other hazards. Short term use at events is also an option.

The acknowledgements on the display, bottom left, read:

This exhibit was created by the Skyline Planning & Preservation Alliance. Special thanks to Doug Overland for display funding. Photo credits: N.E. Minnesota Historical Center, Mark Ryan, Wendy Grethen, Terry Brown. For more information go to www.skylineppa.org and www.amitycreek.com.

Call Peggy at 728-6296 or email info@skylineppa.org if you would like to have the display at your organization's meeting, event, or place of business.

Skyline Guide

Thanks to the City of Duluth for funding a 2004 printing!

A SPPA production, "Exploring the Streams of Skyline Parkway", this map and guide, funded by the Great Lakes Aquatic Habitat Network Fund, is now available. Look for it at the Thompson Hill visitor center and other sites where city information is available. Carriage rides: The Oct. 9 2004 carraige ride along Skyline Parkway was a great success with spectacular weather. Check out some pictures from the day here. Plans for further rides have not been made at this time.

Mission

To be actively involved in short-term and long-term planning for protecting and preserving the aesthetic, environmental, and historic character of Skyline Parkway.
