The NEW Spirit Mt. Master Plan

Spirit Mountain Master Plan revision in progress

The original Spirit Mt. Master Plan included a golf course in the middle of the old growth forest. Let the Spirit Mt. board know the new plan should emphasize the intregrity of the forest as a forest. Contact details coming soon.

Public input on the new Spirit Mountain Master Plan
Bearpaw Chalet at Spirit Mt. from 6 to 8 p.m. - there will be a public meeting taking input on the new master plan.

A consulting team has been hired:

  • John Powers, Applied Insights (Duluth), land use planning
  • Earl Thedens, Architectural Resources (Duluth), planning & design
  • Don Murray, EcoSign (Whistler, British Columbia), technical assessment of existing facility
  • Randy Anderson and Jeff Schiltz, Johnson Controls (Duluth), public outreach and project management

    The original master plan was prepared in the 1970s when Spirit Mt. was created. The last "approved" master plan is from 1997. The Spirit Mt. Board meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 5 p.m. in the chalet at Spirit Mt. Board meetings are open to the public.
